Incoming Recruit Information...
Basic Training consists of 768 hours of instruction over an 18-week period along with many hours of required assignments. The curriculum gradually leads a recruit officer from basic concepts and skills to more advanced problem solving and investigative techniques. The curriculum includes classroom hours and practical evaluations.
If you are scheduled to attend a Basic Training Class, please read and review this Incoming Recuit Information. It details equipment requirements and additional information needed during Basic Training.
All recuits are required to understand and comply with the Kentucky Statutes and Administrative Rules and Regulations while enrolled in the Basic Training Program. Links to these regulations are provided. These rules and regulations should be reviewed prior to arrival at the academy.
